| OUR ORIGIN STORY |

In 2009, we launched an innovative "What-If" idea @ICFF/NY

Wonderfully, now, the world is embracing this...

Here's a "What-If" question for you…

(A piece of our Origin Story, 2009)

Why in the past, has a product had to look a certain way for us to see it

as environmentally friendly ~ good for the planet and its people?

That high design – cool, cutting edge, sexy, gorgeous, fabulous design -

by design, has inherently not been connected with global sustainability?

Why couldn’t ‘cool’ have also been about ‘caring’ too?

"What -If " it always was?

In the past, to 'do good', someone might put a, let's call it,

"mush-pod", in front of you and ask you to buy it.

As a consumer you say, “But I don’t need or want that mush-pod”.

Aaaah they would say,

“But if you buy this mush-pod you will be helping the world”

So you, the consumer, give in and buy it, to feel good and do good… but inherently you do not want this product. You would not choose to buy it if was not for the ‘do good for the world' motivation. Indeed the fact is, tracked over time consumer buying interest will wane if purchases are made predominantly out of a feeling of charity.

Therefore clearly, this is not sustainable.

We also know the simple daily act of purchasing and consuming

has a huge impact on our planet and people.

And yes, we want to do good.

So simply put,

We need the products we consume, to BOTH fulfill our needs or desires AND also be good for our planet and its people.

This is obviously clear.

To be  sustainably "GOOD", we simply must create  these products to also win us over as consumers because we just love the look and feel of them, or their functionality, or they fulfill a real need for us. To be truly sustainable a product must appeal to your desires as a consumer, be cool, sexy, beautiful, functional, etc; fulfill a need and/or desire of yours; be products you purely just WANT to buy - period. +PLUS also be products that are good for our planet and its people. This is key.

And if we come to expect this as the norm:

That is cool.
